Ray Black Jr. Temporarily Steps Away from Racing

Ray Black Jr. will be temporarily stepping away from his NASCAR Xfinity Series ride, SS Greenlight Racing to focus on his family business that has struggled that last couple of months due to COVID-19.

“We were shutdown for three months and that was huge for us,” Black recently told Frontstretch.com

“I felt like I needed to help out because it is my family business. I felt like I needed to put racing to the side for a little bit and go help out. They definitely need me right now and it’s a weird time in the world.”

The family business the Black family owns is Commercial Diving Academy Technical Institute which is one of the only accredited commercial diving schools in the country.

The family buisness was also a long time sponsor for Ray Black Jr. in over 100 NASCAR Xfinity Series starts, and 4 carrer NASCAR Cup Series starts.

No word when Ray Black Jr. will be looking to return to racing.
