Joe Gibbs Racing annoucned before the NASCAR Cup Series Championship race at Phoenix Raceway that JGR co-owner, son to Joe Gibbs, and father to new NASCAR Xfinity Series Champion, Ty Gibbs, has passed away in his sleep hours after watching his son win his first national series title, he was 49.
