Former NASCAR Champion, Jimmie Johnson announced on the TODAY Show this morning that he will compete full time in the NTT INDYCAR Series for Chip Ganassi Racing in 2022.
Johnson competed in 12 of the 16 races for the series in 2021 with the best finish of 17th at Laguna Seca and Long Beach.
2022 will mark the first season that Johnson will compete on an oval track for the INDYCAR series including the 106th running of the Indianapolis 500.
