NASCAR handed down additional layoffs this past week, primarily focusing on the staffing at Chicagoland Speedway.
Once NASCAR completed the merge with International Speedway Corp, there have been several race tracks that have had layoffs as NASCAR tries to streamline their staffing structure.
Most of the staff reduction has come at the tracks maintenance team, and ticket offices.
Chicagoland is expected to lose a race date in 2020 due to COVID-19. No word how these layoffs could affect future race dates for Chicagoland beyond 2020.
