Chase Elliott Wins Nitro Rallycross Race, Then Penalized for Aggressive Driving

"I felt like I had an opportunity. I was trying to slide myself in there instead of door him as hard as I did".

In Chase Elliott’s debut of Nitro Rallycross, he came oh-so-close to getting his first win; actually, he was the winner following the race for about five minutes before he was penalized for rough driving against fellow competitor Tanner Foust.

It was so much fun,” Chase Elliott said in a post-race interview. “I felt like I had an opportunity. I was trying to slide myself in there instead of door him as hard as I did”.

Elliott finished 8th in the race following his penalty from the Rallycross race stewards.

Additionally, this weekend, part-time NASCAR driver Travis Pastrana picked up the 2021 Nitro Rallycross Championship.
