“I think that’s indicative of the faith NASCAR has put into our region to embrace a cup date. I think the initial reaction is proof that they made the right choice”.

World Wide Technology Raceway is preparing for its inaugural NASCAR Cup Series race that will take place next summer on June 5th. Since the September announcement, WWT Raceway has started several improvements at the Madison, Illinois race track.

The roughly $40 million renovation effort will take place in phases with the expectation it will wrap in early 2025.

Initial improvements at WWT Raceway have included plans to add new premium camping sites for fans, upgrade its driver and team owner areas and bolster racetrack safety. Additionally, the track plans to update suite interiors, adding a new rooftop component and enhancing its VIP entrance.

“We’re making sure that every place the fan will experience has been looked at and will have been in some way improved to make sure the fan experience is first-class,” WWT Raceway owner Curtis Francois told the St. Lious Business Journal.
