Following the announcement that Quin Houff joined Star Com Racing as the full time driver, both the team and Landon Cassill said that they both have a partnership set for the 2020 season.
Leading up to the end of the 2019 season, NASCAR Cup Series driver, Landon Cassill told The Racing Insiders and other media members that he would be back with StarCom Racing in 2020.
However, on November 27th, StarCom Racing announced that Quin Houff will come from the No.77 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet, to the full time ride in the No.00 for StarCom Racing.
Following the announcement that Quin Houff joined Star Com Racing, both StarCom and Landon Cassill said they both have a partnership set for the 2020 season.
“We are thankful for all that Landon Cassill has brought to StarCom Racing’s program in 2019. We have a commitment to Landon that we plan to honor in 2020. Details to come at a later date.” StarCom Racing said in a press release back in November.
Following the Quin Houff announcement, this is what Landon Cassill said about his plans for 2020:
Since Cassill mentioned in early December that he is planning on returning to StarCom Racing again full time for 2020, we haven’t heard any further updates from StarCom Racing nor Landon Cassill.
Recently StarCom’s website was updated and listed Cassill as the former driver for the team. It was believed that StarCom Racing was to race the No.99 entry full time for the 2020 season for Landon Cassill. If the team does race the No.99 entry, the team will most likely race without a charter.
No word if these plans have dissolved for 2020, or if we will hear an announcement in the coming days before Daytona kicks off in less then two weeks.
We have reached out to StarCom Racing and Landon Cassill with no response from either party at the time of publication.
