Rick Ware Racing has been teasing an announcement the last several days as they prepare for the 2021 season.
The team will have four charters for the 2021 season after they acquired Premium Motorsports mid-2020. The team has not announced any drivers or plans yet for the 2021 season.
Several reliable Twitter rumor accounts have teased that Rick Ware Racing will be hiring a former Daytona 500 champion for the 2021 edition. Waltrip is a two-time winner of the Great American Race in 2001 and 2005.
Michael Waltrip teased two post on Twitter of a potential announcement tomorrow as well as a posting saying “I’ve been cleared to go”.
Michael Waltrips last race was the 2017 Daytona 500 in which was then announced as his final races of his career.
If Waltrip competes in next year’s Daytona 500, this will be his 785 start in the NASCAR Cup Series, 10th on the all-time start record for the series.
