Tim Schingen, founder and organizer of The Racing Insiders NASCAR Fantasy Racing League, has won the 2022 Championship in his 19th season participating in the league.
Schingen surged late in the fantasy league standings following a win by Joey Logano at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on October 16th, which gave him a playoff birth in the championship race at Phoenix Raceway.
Joey Logano was Schingen’s first pick of his top 10 drivers for the 2022 season, one of only six contenders in the league of 250 members that picked Logano first.
“I knew most people were going to pick (Kyle) Larson and (Chase) Elliott as their first pick this year,” said Schingen.
“If I were to win, I would have to take a chance on the third-best driver expected for 2022. Seeing that Logano usually makes the Championship four every other year, I thought this year would be big for him”.
Logano kicked off the season with a win at the Busch Light Clash in the LA Collusim, a race Tim Schingen attended. Logano went on to win three more races throughout the season, including this weekend at Phoenix Raceway.
Second in the standings was Amy Hoidas, followed by Julie Damiani, 2002 league champion, Joe Schingen finished fourth, and Richard Staley finish fifth in his inaugural season.
The Fantasy Racing League will return for the 2023 season as they celebrate their 20th anniversary.
