John Stange, a successful entrepreneur and business owner based out of Chicago, will start a brand new NASCAR Cup Series team that will debut later this season, beginning at Road America.

Team Stange Racing has competed in select ARCA and INDYCAR races since 2015, including the Indianapolis 500 in 2019 with driver Oriol Servià.

For 2022, the team will make a big step into the NASCAR Cup Series, competing in eight races with former INDYCAR / CART and F1 driver Tarso Marques.

Marques, age 46, has 27 starts in the INDYCAR / CART Series, driving for Team Penske and Dale Coyne Racing from 1999 until 2005. In his 27 race for those series, Marques earned three top-ten finishes. Marques also has 24 starts in Formula One from 1996 until 2001, with the best finish of ninth.

Team Stange Racing released their car design on Tuesday via TWITTER. The No. 79 Yellow and Blue Ford Mustang will be sponsored by Dignity Gold and DIGau Token, a form of Cryptocurrency that debuted in November of 2021.

The team announced their eight-race schedule to include Road America, Indianapolis Road Course, Watkins Glen, Daytona, Charlotte ROVAL, Las Vegas, Homestead, and Phoenix.

The team shop is located in downtown Chicago, Illinois. No mention of any affiliation with another NASCAR Cup Series team.
