In the interview Phelps said that NASCAR is “absolutely” not for sale.
“The France family is not interested in selling NASCAR at all,” Phelps said during in the interview on “Mornings with Maria.”
In Spring of 2018 the then NASCAR CEO, Brian France, announced that NASCAR is for sale and is looking for a buyer. After NASCAR purchased the ARCA Series and merged the International Speedway Corporation, it was thought that NASCAR was preparing for a big sale.
