Moffitt to Return Racing Following Injury Once Racing Resumes

Following a motocross accident on March 14 that fractured both of his legs, Brett Moffitt was certain to miss several races in the NASCAR Gander & RV Outdoor Truck Series, and the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2020. However due to COVID-19, Moffitt believes he will be healed by the time we return to racing.

Following a motocross accident on March 14 that fractured both of his legs, Brett Moffitt was sure to miss several races in the NASCAR Gander & RV Outdoor Truck Series and the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2020. However, due to COVID-19, Moffitt believes he will be healed by the time we return to racing.

“I was riding Motocross with some friends and just came up short on the jump and went over the handlebars, and I think my body weight versus my legs against the handlebars is what broke them. So other than that, I mean it was it’s kind of crazy because when I was at the hospital, and I was asking, you know, initially my first questions were how long is it going to take for me to get back in a race car and they’re like, ‘honestly, we don’t know because we haven’t seen somebody break both their femurs and not have a scratch on the rest of your body.’” Moffitt told MRN Radio in their weekly program, MRN Radio Outloud.

During the off-time due to COVID-19, Moffitt trained with former NASCAR driver Josh Wise and is expected to be cleared by doctors before continuing racing.

The first race back is expected to be end of May at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
