Kyle Larson Ends Consecutive Starts Streak at 178 Races

Kyle Larson will end his consecutive NASCAR Cup Series start streak at 220 races after being released by Chip Ganassi Racing over the COVID-19 break this season.

Kyle Larson will end his consecutive NASCAR Cup Series start streak at 178 races after being released by Chip Ganassi Racing over the COVID-19 break this season.

Kyle Larson hasn’t missed a race since the Martinsville race in 2015 where he sat out one race due to fainting the day prior at an autograph session. Regan Smith drove the No. 42 that day.

Prior to Martinsville 2015, Larson did not miss a race since Homestead-Miami in 2013.

Larson was currently 10th in active drivers for the most consecutive starts.

Following a racial slur during an iRacing event, Larson was banned from NASCAR until he completed sensitivity training.

It was confirmed that Larson has completed the training, however has not yet reapplied for his NASCAR license to be reinstated.

There has been no rumored or expected races Larson has on the horizon in NASCAR.
