Is Ty Dillon Looking at Options For 2021 Ride?

Ty Dillon spoke to The Racing Insiders at the GEICO stage. When asked about why he signed with Kevin Harvick Inc. over the off season he replied "You never know what rides might open up".

Ty Dillon this weekend will complete in his 129th race in the NASCAR Cup Series at Auto Club Speedway. Since starting in the Cup Series in 2014, Ty has no wins, no poles, one top 5 finish, and five top 10th finishes.

His average finish in the NASCAR Cup series is 22nd, much lower than his previous season’s in the ARCA Series, Truck Series, and Xfinity Series where he has finished 10th or better in his average starts for all three of those series.

Ty Dillon announced in 2017 a “long-term” extension to remain in the No. 13 Chevrolet with Germain Racing. That contract is expected to be up following the 2020 season.

Over this past off season, Ty Dillon signed with Kevin Harvick Inc. once a NASCAR Xfinity Series team now turned into a full-service sports and celebrity-marketing agency representing professionals in the sports, broadcasting and music industries.

Prior to the Duels at Daytona earlier this month in Daytona Beach, Florida, Ty Dillon spoke to The Racing Insiders at the GEICO stage. When asked about why he signed with Kevin Harvick Inc. over the off season he replied “You never know what rides might open up”.

There were some rumors late in 2019 that Ty Dillon could retire from NASCAR and work at RCR in a management role, but those rumors were quickly squashed.

“Everybody is saying that I’m going to retire at the end of 2020, which couldn’t be more false. I plan on racing for many, many years. I don’t know where it came from, but to hear it from my mouth, I’m not retiring, and I plan on winning races and championships for many years.”
