Camden Murphy Joins NEMCO Motorsports for Daytona Road Course

This weekend marks the 24-year old’s seventh event with NEMCO Motorsports, and his first at The World Center of Speed in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series .

Camden Murphy heads to Daytona (FL.) with NEMCO Motorsports for a race at the 3.5-mile Daytona International Speedway Road Course. The NEMCO Motorsports No. 8 Wreckfest.com Chevrolet will carry the THQ Nordic Wreckfest videogame branding as
the primary partner in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series presented by the BrakeBest Pads 159 at the Daytona International Speedway on Friday, Feb. 19 with Murphy at the wheel.

This weekend marks the 24-year old’s seventh event with NEMCO Motorsports, and his first at The World Center of Speed in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series . The Itasca, Ill.,-native is no stranger to the family-owned and operated team. Murphy started turning wrenches with NEMCO Motorsports in May 2019.

“I am incredibly excited to be able to drive for NEMCO Motorsports,” Murphy said. “NEMCO Motorsports has been an institution for the Nemechek family. To be able to drive for the family is an absolute honor. The No. 8 has so much history behind it, and for Mr. Nemechek to give me this opportunity is truly a dream come true. With Gere Kennon as my crew chief this weekend I know that I will be in good hands. With over
40 years of experience, Gere has guided and paved the way for so many drivers and I am thrilled to have him in my ear this weekend!

“I have a history behind-the-wheel with NEMCO Motorsports but not at this capacity. Having worked on the trucks as well, I know how much dedication and hard work goes into these fast trucks. I am excited to have the THQ Nordic Wreckfest videogame, Rock Hill ACE Hardware, The Cookie Jar, Redline Ace, G-Design and so many other great partners on-board for this weekend at the Daytona International Speedway, as it
is their first event on-track for many. I am so thankful to NEMCO Motorsports for giving me this opportunity, and I look forward to making them and my sponsors proud.”

“Combining racing, demolition and an unlimited supply of over-the-top vehicles, Wreckfest answers the prayers of millions of armchair NASCAR drivers!” said Eric Wuestmann, CEO, THQ Nordic Inc. “We’re so proud to be on the track with the NEMCO Motorsports team this weekend as sponsors to one of the greatest teams in NASCAR history!”

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series presented by the BrakeBest Pads 159 will be broadcast live on FS1 on Friday February 19th at 7:30 p.m.
