Brandon Gdovic to Drive for Sam Hunt Racing in Select 2021 Races

It was announced today that 28-year-old driver Brandon Gdovic will reunite with Sam Hunt Racing in 2021.

It was announced today that 28-year-old driver Brandon Gdovic will reunite with Sam Hunt Racing in 2021, signing for a limited schedule that focuses primarily on oval tracks and begins at Daytona International Speedway February 13. Gdovic, former ARCA Menards East Series race winner and teammate of Sam Hunt at Precision Performance Motorsports (2012), is no stranger to Sam or his organization. A 12th-place charge from the rear of the field at Indianapolis in 2020 proved Gdovic fit the mold for SHR and their team’s development both on and off the track. Gdovic will also enter the Toyota Racing Development Program heading into 2021.

“Brandon is a fierce competitor that accepts nothing but the best internally,” team owner Sam Hunt said. “He not only pushes himself; but pushes the team as a leader behind the wheel. He helped us tremendously in 2020, and the guys had a blast working with him. He is a team player, and I see Brandon as a staple to this organization moving forward. We’ve known each other since we were 18 years old racing the (former) K&N East series together. We’ve witnessed each other grow up. Not to mention, I now admit he’s three times the race car driver I ever was. It’s going to be a lot of fun continuing to grow this team with a familiar face I know I can trust.”

For Gdovic, success has been found across multiple genres of motorsports. Not only was he a winner in the ARCA Menards East Series, but also has a Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Championship trophy under his belt.

In regards to 2021 with Sam Hunt Racing, re-adjusting to oval racing and providing competitive runs for both his team and sponsors are of the highest priority.

“I’m excited to be back racing this year with Sam and looking forward to my first superspeedway race,” Gdovic said. “Everyone knows anything can happen at Daytona and that we need to survive the first two thirds of the race before getting too aggressive. I think it will be an interesting experience for me and hope I can bring home a strong result for the team. Hopefully this race will lead to more good runs throughout the season.”

Gdovic’s 2021 debut is set for the season opener at Daytona, and the rest of his schedule will be announced later. His partners include ComServe Wireless, WindStax Energy, and Toyota Racing.
