Shane Lee to Race for Joey Gase Racing in Select Xfinity Races for 2022

Joey Gase annoucned last week that he will form a brand new NASCAR Xfinity Series team called Joey Gase Racing for the 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series. Gase, who’s expected to race a majority of the races for the team next season, chatted with John Roberts and Chocolate Meyers on NASCAR Sirius XM Radio’s program Tradin’ Paint.

“Someone else that will be in the car this year a good amount, it’s not a 100% yet but looking like it’s going to happen, is my buddy Shane Lee who we got a lot of his equipment from,” Gase said.

Shane teased that he might start his own team back in August since he acquired a good chunk of H2 Motorsports equipment, including tools and pit boxes, after the team folded in 2019, where Lee was the driver for most of the races.

“Glad to see Joey Gase Racing taking over our racing inventory from us and looking forward to what he does with his new team,” Lee posted on his Twitter account. “I’m even going to try and run a few races for him! Looking forward to it”.

Lee has competed in 20 NASCAR Xfinity Series starts for both Richard Childress Racing and the now-defunct H2 Motorsports team. His last NASCAR start came at Bristol Motor Speedway in 2019.

Gase mentioned that he expects other drivers also to race the car in 2022, which will be announced soon.
