Rick Ware Racing Acquires Front Row Motorsports Charter and Purchases Equipment

Rick Ware, owner of Rick Ware Racing was on Sirius XM NASCAR Radio’s program “Dialed In with Claie B. Lane” Friday night and talked about some of his teams plans for the 2020 season.

Earlier in the day the team announced David Regan will compete in the teams third entry for the Daytona 500 in a Front Row Motorsports prepared car.

“I think a lot of teams are looking already towards 2021” said Ware. “So as Front Row starts to prepare for the 2021 season instead of them using their parts and pieces to run three cars in 2020, after the departure of Matt (Tifft) it made sense for our teams to come together and for us to lease this charter for 2020.”

In 2019 Rick Ware Racing purchased a charter from Front Row Motorsports, who at the time had four charters after acquiring BK Racing charter following the 2018 season. In the charter purchase in 2019 Rick Ware Racing also purchased four race cars from Front Row Motorsports. Starting in 2020 the third Front Row Motorsports charter will be leased to Rick Ware Racing.

“The car that David (Regan) will race in the Daytona 500 is a car prepared by Front Row Motorsports and the body built by Roush-Fenway Racing, however it is car that we at Rick Ware Racing have purchased from the team, so it will be a Rick Ware Racing car, it will be a Rick Ware Racing hauler, and Rick Ware Racing crew members for David’s attempt at the Daytona 500”.

Additionally in 2020, Rick Ware Racing will purchase additional race car chassis from Front Row Motorsports throughout the season based on demand for both race teams and available equipment as we moved to 2021.

In December Rick Ware Racing announced that JJ Yeley and Joey Gase will drive the other two Rick Ware Racing entries full time in 2020.

The Racing Insiders have reached out to the team about potential racing numbers for 2020, but have not at time of publish received an answer.
