Richard Petty Motorsports has agreed to sell a majority interest to Maury Gallagher, owner of GMS Racing, both teams announced on Wednesday afternoon in a press release.
Two carters were in this agreement of purchase including the No. 43 Chevrolet with driver, Erik Jones, and the No. 51 charter that was leased to Rick Ware Racing for the last three seasons.
GMS Racing will compete the No. 43 with driver Erik Jones, and No. 94 with driver Ty Dillon making the GMS Racing entry in the NASCAR Cup Series a two-car operation.
A media press conference is scheduled for Tuesday, December 7th in Charlotte for an official announcement.
