Heat at Atlanta Left Drivers Dehydrated Following 500 Miles

The drivers of Bubba Wallace and Josh Bilicki were both treated and released from the infield care center at Atlanta Motor Speedway following the Folds of Honor 500 due to dehydration.

With temperatures in the high 80’s most of the day, the car temperatures reached well over 110 degrees for over 500 miles of racing.

This race was postponed in March until June due to COVID-19.

Atlanta Motor Speedway historically has raced early in the season or late in the season due to the heat the summer brings in Atlanta.

Several other drivers were attended to by medical personnel on pit road following the race but did not need further medical treatment in the infield care center.
