Front Row Motorsports Temporary Layoff Over 70 Employees Due to COVID-19

Front Row Motorsports has written a letter to the North Carolina Department of Commerce, announcing the team is temporarily laying off over 70 employees due to COVID-10.

This makes up over 33% of their staff, which forces the team to let North Carolina know of the layoffs.

According to Bob Pockrass from Fox Sports, Front Row Motorsports laid off 29 mechanics, 24 fabricators, 6 engineers, 5 in marketing, 4 in transportation, 4 in general support, and 1 administrative.

The written letter says the temporary layoffs are expected to last 1-2 months.

Front Row Motorsports runs three full-time NASCAR teams. Two in the NASCAR Cup Series, and one in the Gander RV and Outdoor Truck Series. No word if driver contracts have been effected.

Front Row Motorsports is not the first NASCAR team to temporary layoff workers due to COVID-19 but was the first large scale layoffs of over 70 people.
