CMI Motorsports Owner Vows to Sell Race Team Following NASCAR’s Confederate Flag Ban

CMI Motorsports owner and driver, Ray Ciccarelli has posted on his personal Facebook page that he will close and sell off everything from his race shop following the 2020 season.

The post came following NASCAR’s announcement earlier in the day about the ban of Confederate Flags at race tracks.

Well its been a fun ride and dream come true but if this is the direction Nascar is headed we will not participate after 2020 season is over , i don’t believe in kneeling during Anthem nor taken ppl right to fly what ever flag they love. I could care less about the Confederate Flag but there are ppl that do and it doesn’t make them a racist all you are doing is fucking one group to cater to another and i ain’t spend the money we are to participate in any political BS!! So everything is for SALE!!

CMI Motorsports started in 2017 in the ARCA Menards Series and transitioned to the Gander RV & Outdoor Truck Series for 2019. The team currently races the No. 49 and No. 83 with several different drivers.

No announcement of the closure has been made on the race team’s website or social media accounts.
